All of our instructors encourage their students to improve their coordination, strength, conditioning, and self-confidence through dancing. Below is
a brief bio for each member of our staff.
Jenifer Castillo [Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Poms]

Jenifer is a Colorado Native and grew up in the Wheat Ridge area. Took dance for 13 years at a studio in Westminster. She has taught for 7 years
in Colorado. While dancing she took jazz, tap, hip hop, ballet and lyerical. Jenifer was a Colorado Crush Cheerleader in the year of 2004-2005.
She enjoyed it very much and has been able to pass on her skills to the students that she teaches. Jenifer is a full time student and will obtain
her applied science degree as a Paralegal. She also works full time. Jenifer has been teaching in Castle Rock for 4 years and enjoys it very much.

Tam Kleinsmith [Ballet, Tap, Lyrical, Jazz, Hip Hop]

Tam Kleinsmith, Director of Castle Rock Dance Academy, has been dancing or teaching dance in Colorado for the past thirty years.
Tam was raised in Thornton, CO and attended Studio “L” School of Dance where she received a solid foundation in tap, jazz, hip hop, and ballet.
Tam also received summer training from the Colorado School of Ballet. Tam studied dance at Regis University and received her bachelor degree
from Colorado State University. Over the past fifteen years, Tam has taught for dance studios in Denver, Vail, Eagle, and most recently,
Castle Rock, CO. Tam started Castle Rock Dance Academy in April of 2007.

Amanda Luton [Ballet]

Amanda Luton was born and raised in Glenrock, Wyoming. She received her early training under Shirley Lewis in Casper, Wyoming.
After Shirley's death Amanda became one of Rocky Mountain School of Dance's original students. She attended the prestigious
University of Utah on full scholarship. Amanda graduated from the University of Utah's ballet department with University and
Departmental honors. She completed a double emphasis in performance and teaching. As a member of the ballet department she
performed many soloist roles while a member of the University's pre-professional company, Utah Ballet.
Her soloist performance credits include: La Bayadere, Fanny Cerrito in Pas de Quatre, Les Sylphides, and Red a contemporary work.
She was also a member of the University's Character Dance Ensemble (CDE). As a member of CDE she was able to travel to Canada,
China, and Russia to study and perform ballet and character. Amanda is beginning her second season at David Taylor Dance Theatre
as a senior apprentice. She is very excited to begin her first year teaching at Castle Rock Dance Academy.

Meghan Mitchell [Lyrical, Jazz]

Meghan Mitchell was born in and Portland, Oregon and began dancing when she was quite young. She continued doing ballet until
college when she expanded her horizons and began doing modern dance at Brigham Young University-Idaho. She has very much enjoyed
the privelege of being able to teach dance to kids of all ages at studios in both Arizona and Colorado. She is currently the
assistance artistic director for The Movment Dance Co. Meghan loves dancing and hopes to impart that love to the students who
dance with her. Meghan is married and lives in Castle Rock with her husband Carson and two daughters, Siobhan and Audrey and they
are anxiously awaiting the birth of their son in Feb. of 2009!

Jeannie Vasil [Ballet, Tap]

Jeannie is originally from Carmel, Indiana, where she grew up dancing. She took lessons
in ballet and tap. At Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana, she specialized in Modern
dance. She currently lives in Larkspur, C), and has called Colorado home for over 10 years.
She enjoys teaching and sharing the love of dance. She is married with four children, ages 11, 9, 7 and 3 years.
